Now open: expressions of interest for taking some of the books into your own library
1-8 Dec Processing requests
Mon 8 Dec – Organise talkoo space and help us bring books up from basement to work area. We need several strong people for a short time to help with this.
9-11 Dec – Checking the boxes against the catalog and presorting books allocated to libraries. Come along to browse, talk, drink a cuppa, and help process and sort the books.
Friday 12th : **SORRY, RESCHEDULED** LIVE STREAM READING EVENT We are streaming another reading aloud together event where people can share something from the books they are taking to a new home, or not. More details for listening and registration for onsite listening, or contributing a reading.
12-17 – Scheduled pick-ups / deliveries & open browse sessions to choose unallocated books. We need people around to update the digital library as books go out and help people find books from the catalog etc.

Bookings are timed to stagger arrivals and avoid too many people checking their books out at the same time; but it is realistic to allow at least an hour to browse and go through the catalogue check-out and agreement details. You should also bring sturdy bags, boxes or a trolley with you. We have a few emergency banana boxes available in a pinch. We will text or email the exact arrival address after you book. We do not publish the address in Vallila to preserve the privacy and quiet of other residents in the building and ask that you keep noise to a minimum whilst coming and going. When you get the address, let us know if you are able to stay a bit longer on and help others check books out.
A lot of books will move by wednesday, so wednesday is the best day for booking a pick up of requested books and monday is the best day to book a browse.
16-18 Help moving books out. We might need help from strong people and people with cars on these days.
